I’ve worked on monumentally large sculptures in a variety of capacities: welder, crew lead, logistics support, budget management.
I love big steel and making things. I’ve worked on projects with the Flaming Lotus Girls, the Flux Foundation, and my own sculptures.
Experiments in metal, fabric, and light. Perfect for a table top.
I have over a decade of experience of installing art for public and private events, handling heavy equipment rental arrangements and operation, pulling permits, managing budgets, and remembering to bring the anti-seize.
I’ve worked for artists like Karen Cusolito, Zachary Coffin, Charlie Gadekan, and groups like the Flaming Lotus Girls, and the Flux Foundation. Art installations have taken me as far as Australia, and as local as downtown Oakland.

In 2016, le Attrata was created, a sculpture of intense fire and sound. I was privileged to co-lead, with Orion Fredericks, a crew of people to build it- check out more at its website, www.leattrata.com

There are so many facets of making things- from simple metal fabrication to the complex logistics of large scale art installations. Theres an art and craft to every step of the process, whether we’re loading a truck or tig welding stainless steel.
Since 2007, I’ve been a part of the industrial arts community in the San Francisco Bay Area; I’m always looking for new projects.
I’ve been making flame effects for over a decade, and shown them around the world. A lot of my work has been with the Flaming Lotus Girls, where the focus is on teaching and participation. I’ve worked with many individual artists and groups to help bring sculptures to life using fire.
Fire is something that can be done safely, and can be shown in accordance with national standards. I’m well versed in dealing with local authorities, and developing plumbing and safety plans to fit any sculpture and venue.

These flowers are beautiful, with or without their small flames. The smaller flame effects are designed to be easy to use, manageable by anyone who can use a BBQ grill. Custom built effects produce yellow and blue flames.
Sunlight requirements: Indoor or outdoor, the sun plays very nicely on the mix of steel, copper and stainless steel. Prolonged outdoor exposure will produce natural oxidation patina on copper and steel. Due to the nature of flames being hot, protective treatments on heated surfaces aren’t possible.
Feeding: small amounts of propane will produce warm blooms of flickering flames.
Caution: fire is hot. These are to be used with discretion, and use of the flame effects is responsibility of owner.

Sometimes its the little things. Creatures made out of the remnants of other fabrication. Small but delightful.
Mousie and Hedgie are two rascally rodents. Made to zoom, they’re frequent visitors at Maker Faire, San Mateo, where they chase and run from hoards of children. Lovingly crafted from lightweight and durable materials, they’re remarkably personable.
Art as mobile puppets as play. The ultimate in proxy interaction.
